Malcolm Manson, a native of Great Britain and Oxford graduate, came to the United States in 1961. His main occupation has been as a schoolmaster, serving five schools over the years, including, in the Bay Area, Marin Country Day School, Cathedral School for Boys, and the Bay School. He retired from active school work in 2009, and now does minor consulting jobs.
Simultaneously, since 1979 he has served as a priest in various venues, including St. John’s, Ross, St. John the Baptist in Portland, Oregon, St. Mary the Virgin, San Francisco, Grace Cathedral, Christ Church, Sausalito and St. Luke’s San Francisco. In the diocese, he serves as Archdeacon for Schools. In addition to the BBS, he serves on the Board of Cathedral School for Boys.
Father Malcolm is married to the former Snowden Johnston, a proud San Francisco native. They have three grown children and two grandchildren. His hobbies include playing classical piano, reading a wide variety of literature of miscellaneous value, travel, gardening and golf.
