Since moving from London to San Francisco in 1992 Susie has been an active member in non-profit organizations. She was an auxiliary member of Edgewood Center for Children and Families for over 10 years, 1994 – 2005. Edgewood was started in the city as a small orphanage in 1849 (almost as old as the British Benevolent Society!) and has grown to serve children in crisis all around the Bay Area.
She also served six years as a Trustee on the board of The Cathedral School for Boys 2008-2014 as well as being an involved member of the Parents Association for 11 years, 2001 – 2012. Susie was born and raised in East Africa, and attended school in England. She pursued a culinary career after graduating from Leith’s School of Food and Wine in London, 1984. She has served on the Relief Committee for the BBS for three years.
