News from the BBS

A big thank you to everyone who joined the 2020 Annual General Meeting last week. The strong turn out demonstrated your commitment to the BBS and interest in staying informed and connected.

During the AGM we premiered our first promotional video! The goal of the video is to provide visual content for you to take away and share with others. We are thrilled to show the new BBS video to everyone. We hope that it will help us continue to increase awareness of how we help and how others can become involved.

We are delighted to welcome five new Directors to the Board of the BBS! Thank you all for helping to further the mission of the charity and supporting the work that we do.

 

Karen Beale

Karen is a dynamic executive who has combined her passion for Art & Science by representing Trinity House Paintings Fine Art in Tiburon.

David Harding

David is the former CFO of the BBS, current head of the Investment Committee and we are so pleased that he is returning to the board.

Penny Harwood

Penny is the Interim Chief Representative for North America for London & Partners and having been part of the BBS Relief Committee over the last year, is delighted to be supporting the fabulous mission and work of the BBS.

Hedley Potts

Hedley joins us having spent 7 years in the Bay Area working for HP and now Google. He lives in the East Bay Hills, enjoys walking his dog, cooking, socializing, and photography.

Alex Sinclair

British born Alex J Sinclair is a media consultant in the publishing and creative rights distribution space -focused on digital photography and footage licensing.

British Bash with Saint George’s Society of NYC

Join us for a special evening on Thursday 3rd December with our friends, St. George’s Society of New York, as they celebrate their 250th Anniversary at the British Bash.

Guests will enjoy music performances by Jake Isaac and Sting, audience challenges from their host Sharon Carpenter, special guest appearances, a silent auction, and much more. The evening will also honor the brilliant Zanna Roberts Rassi.

Tickets are available at this link, and all proceeds support the charitable programs of St. George’s Society of New York.

Whisky Wednesdays with St. Andrew’s Society of SF

The St. Andrew’s Society of San Francisco is proud to announce a new social event in collaboration with The Whisky Shop of San Francisco called “Whisky Wednesdays” to be presented every 2nd Wednesday starting December 9th, 2020 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM.

The first tasting will tour some of the best of Scotland’s single malts comparing the regional differences between each producer. Paul McGinlay and his team will present each whisky as we enjoy this mid-week break over Zoom.December 9th  6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Lowland: Auchentoshan Three Wood
Highland: Edradour aged 10 years
Speyside: Glendronach aged 12 Years
Campbeltown: Springbank aged 10 Years
Islay: Kilchoman Machir Bay, A Whisky Shop Exclusive

Whisky Wednesdays tickets are priced at $50 for members and $75 for non-members, limited to one per household and includes shipping. There is a reduced ticket for anyone who only wants to observe.

Each ticket holder will receive five curated Scotch whiskies (50ml per tasting) highlighting the regions of Scotland, which will then be presented during our monthly tasting event from the comfort of your home.

The profits of this event will help fund our benevolent activities and will support this local business.
