Jenn Baker, Executive Director
I have always had a passion for working with the international community, learning and experiencing different cultures, and traveling abroad whenever possible! After completing my degree in International Affairs and Political Science at the University of Nevada, I moved to San Francisco and have made the Bay Area my home ever since. My career has been devoted to promoting international education, cultural exchange and communications. I have been fortunate enough to have had a professional life filled with wonderful relationships – meeting and working with people from every corner of the world. I come to the BBS after working for many years at the British Consulate in San Francisco where I managed internal and external communications for all British Consulates in the Americas; facilitated and organized events and trainings; and implemented digital media strategies.
I am thrilled and honored to have joined the BBS! During my time at the Consulate, I was able to see first hand the impact the BBS charity had on Brits who desperately needed a helping hand. This unique organization, like no other in the US or the Americas, is able to provide basic necessities like food, clothes and shelter to Brits when they need it the most.
More recently, the BBS has focused on increasing its social footprint and engaging a larger ex-pat Anglo community in the Bay Area. I’m honored and excited to be part of this next chapter in the story of the BBS (that began in the 1800’s!), and inspired to help build an even stronger BBS community!
I encourage anyone interested in learning more about the BBS to read up on our history and impact, or please always free to contact me directly.
Warmly,
Jenn Baker
